Sport Acupuncture

Sports acupuncture for athletic performance and wellness can help one to maintain flexibility, strength and function with regular training.  Each session is one on one to assess compensation patterns and utilize acupuncture to reduce muscular tension, restore muscle inhibition and flexibility for one’s sport.  Injury prevention is our goal and each treatment is customized to meet the athletes needs.

Dry needling, trigger point release and motor point acupuncture can be extremely helpful in activating and releasing muscles to restore muscle length and proper engagement after practice or right before games.  Depending on the athlete’s sport each treatment is designed around their training program and schedule of events.

Utilizing acupuncture for the rest and recovery phase of training can be a very healing part of one’s performance.  Acupuncture can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system to promote a deep sense of relaxation improving one’s sleep quality, breathing patterns, and digestion.  Athletes often come for this type of treatment the day before an event or on off days.
